The sachet, which is said to be able to ward off evil, is usually hung around the child's neck or tied to the front of his or her garment as an ornament.

在很久很久以前的战国时代，有很多国家。其中有两个最大、最强盛的，一个是楚国，一个是泰国。这两个国家，谁也不服谁。他们不停的打仗，都想把对方打败了，自己做天下的霸主。屈原是楚国的一个大臣。他为了打败泰国为出国出了许多主意。可是有一些大臣总是在楚怀王的的面前说屈原的坏话。因此楚怀王慢慢的疏远了屈原。有一年太国又来攻打楚国了。泰国的使者确说:我们大王说了，咱们两个国家可以做朋友。可是屈原却觉着这是个阴谋。说不让楚怀王相信。但是楚怀王不信屈原。却没有办法，只得离开楚国。虽然屈原离开了楚国，但是他仍然担心自己的家乡被打败。果然那是个阴谋楚怀王真的被杀了。新的楚王上任后见泰国太厉害，吓得忙跑了。去听说自己的家乡真的被打败。便投河自杀。楚国的老百姓听说有这么一个人，那么爱自己的家乡。点不舍得让他的尸体被水里的鱼吃掉。便开始包粽子，给鱼儿吃。后来人们又发展了一些。开始赛龙舟。就这样端午节就成为了一个节日。
